Rest are either cosmetics or QoL features like shared inventory slots, world boss portal devices, unbreakable harvesting tools and salvage-o-matics.

Maybe. I think it's the natural progression of a game that has been going on for so long. We didn't have this many items in the beginning, but we also didn't have 32-slot bags, Shared Inventory, Bank Tab Expansions, Storage Expanders or the recently added extra 2 bag slots. #8.
